Conclusion

There are many reasons why an online learning course is essential for our future generations. There are also many different ways we can make these courses authentic and genuine without totally losing the social presence of the classroom. As technology continues to grow and change there are going to be even more opportunities for our students to communicate and learn through these types of opportunities. It is our job as educators to take the lead and incorporate technology within the classroom to help our students prepare for their future. 

The role educators play in the classroom is changing. There will always be the need for a classroom educator to guide, promote, encourage, and challenge student learning, but how that is accomplished has changed and will continue to change. Our district needs to take a look at how we approach student learning as well as how we can support our educators and encourage them to take the next step in creating a more tech friendly environment. This can be achieved through the acquisition of an educational technology instructor and full time education teacher.
